So I decided to do a favor for the place I work. They have me answering phones today.

If you're in a position to put people in jobs, repeat after me:

"I promise to never ever put an IT person at the front desk on phone duty."

5 can't come soon enough. This is seriously freaking me out.

  I can't give it out, since there is a person who normally works the desk. That and it's a government number. They might have some issues with it :-P

      While it would be amusing, at the rate the calls are coming in (none for about 10 minutes, then 8 at once.... grr) I really shouldn't be adding to it by having people call for me.
      
      However, you *can* randomly call City Hall in Boston and ask for random departments, hoping to find the one I'm working in today... :-P

        It seriously is a bad job for me. I jump every time the phone rings, because I know I have to answer it. I am all sorts of jumpy because of this. Lunch is at 1:30 though, so I'll hold out for that and hope the afternoon is dead.
        
        Would State or Downtown be better? I know how to get to Downtown from here :-P

        Well, the things that stand out in my mind of DTC are the fresh fruit/veggie vendor and the CVS. You pick which one to meet at.

        You could do that if you really wanted, but nobody here except maybe 5 people knows that I exist. Also, it's a fairly large building, and with the number of T Macfarlans out and about these days, you may just get some other person in trouble...
