I bought a plug for my bathtub this weekend.

The package says:

Universal Tub Stopper
Long Life Material
Specially Engineered Rubber
to Resist Harsh Chemicals
and Hard Water.

When did people start taking baths in harsh chemicals? Did I miss some new fad?

Somehow, I think that anyone bathing in a tub of lime isn't going to be around to collect on the 10-year guarantee ...

  Ajax and elbow grease, but I don't leave the plug in the drain when I'm doing it. Having a pool of sludge in the tub would kind of defeat the goal of getting it clean :-)

    True, but the possibility of contact between plug and chemicals is still nigh-high, no? Just covering their bases. Also, as this is a 'universal' plug, I could easily see it ending up in a big square plastic sink, located in a lab, or garage or photography studio.

  Oh great - now I have to worry about having the makings of a drug lab in my possession - a bathtub and an overpriced tub plug.

My studio had a shower/tub combination. I found a concentrated stream of uric acid every morning kept the grime down... ;-)
