Journal tomhudson's Journal: The religion meme revisited 24

Since everyone else is doing this quiz ..

Same results as last year:

You scored as atheism.

You are... an atheist, though you probably already knew this. Also, you probably have several people praying daily for your soul. Instead of simply being "nonreligious," atheists strongly believe in the lack of existence of a higher being, or God.

atheism.....100%
Satanism.... 96%
Paganism.... 58%
Buddhism.... 50%
agnosticism. 42%
Judaism..... 38%
Christianity 21%
Islam....... 21%
Hinduism..... 0%

Funny how closely the quiz relates atheism and satanism ... I guess to certain people, they would seem to be one and the same ...

... oops - gotta go sacrifice another virgin - it's tough work, but someone has to do it :-)

What a bunch of crap! I came out at 71% satanism and 71% agnosticism.

I reckon satanism hinges on "the abortion is bad, true or false" question..
    • Here's a test (probably just as accurate).

Read these jokes, then check your results at the bottom.

      Q. What's red and goes around in circles?
      A. A baby in a blender.
      Q. What's red and white and sits in a corner crying?
      A. A baby playing with a razor blade.
      Q. What's green and sits in a corner quietly?
      A. The same baby a week later.
      Q. What's blue and sits in a corner?
      A. A baby playing with a plastic bag.
      Q. What's white and crawls up women's legs?
      A. Uncle Ben's perverted rice.
      Q. What's black and crawls up women's

      • I'd say your test was probably MORE accurate :)
      • Q. How do you fit 100 dead babies inside a phone booth?
        A. With a liquidizer.

        Q. How do you get them out again?
        A. Straw, or doritos.

        Q. What's the best part about stapling a dead baby to the wall?
        A. Tearing it down again.

        Q. What's the difference between a Cadillac and a pile of dead babies?
        A. I don't have a Cadillac in my garage.

    • That would suggest that you agree satanism is about being evil or supporting evil. I agree that it's really odd that athiesm and satanism should come out so closely in the results, but I don't know if there is enough evidence to suggest that they are regarded as similar because they're evil or about making what the quiz writer thinks is bad choices.

Actually, most organized, true satanists (note: Not the black-wearing vamp wannabe high school fluffbunnies who hate their parents and rebel against society)
      • they believe in a God (big G) who was actually rather restrictive toward his creations. Satan, who in most of their descriptions isn't some big red evil dude with horns, gave the gift of knowledge and freedom to man.

... which I have used as an argument against believing in God - after all, God lied "on the day you eat the fruit thereof, you shall surely die", and Satan told them the truth. Which, in light of Jesus coming along and saying "You shall know the truth, and it shall set you free", is rather fun

        • Interesting.

Are you just opposed to the Christian idea of God, or just gods in general? What are your thoughts on Deism? (the religion that has a god, but doesn't start confusing things with salvation, worship, or any real ado toward man)

Most Deists believe that God created the universe, "wound it up" and then disassociated himself from his creation. Some refer to Deists as believing in a God who acts as an absentee landlord or a blind watchmaker. A few Deists believe that God still intervenes in huma

          • Interesting points.

For myself, I just don't see a need for a "Creator" to explain the existence of the universe.

As soon as we use terms like "when the universe was created", we've already biased ourselves towards the "if the universe was created, then someone or something must have created it" argument.

Be funny if it turns out that the whole universe as we know it is just an anomaly, the result of random fluctuations in the "cosmic foam" that temporarily allowed it to come into existence for no reason

  • Interesting...

I used to be a Bud man...Now I prefer an Indian Pale Ale.

Life's too short to drink cheap beer.

For added effect, dowse yourself with some pig blood before opening door.

  • Buddhist. next?
  • I'm taking this right now and I find a lot of these questions to be... ambiguous?

"Women and men are equal in the eyes of God."

Is it 'The God' (christian/catholic god, this is probably correct because it is capitalized) or just a god? What if I don't believe in 'God', you want me to tell if you they are equal or not equal in the eyes of something I don't believe in? What if I believe in a different god other than 'The God'? Should I answer for that god instead? What if my religion doesn't have gods?

    • I tried leaving those ones blank ... got a "fill in # so-and-so". Guess it's like voting - sometimes you have to hold your nose and make a choice.
  • I went though and agreed strongly to all questions without even reading them. I was hoping it would say something like "congradulations, you are Mr. Gullible, you will believe everything you are told.", but instead it told me I was simultaneously atheist and many other religions:

    You scored as atheism.

  • I replied to another thread with some of this, but reposted it out here to get a few more possible responses.

  • you related 100% atheist, and i rated 71% christianity... yet we both rated just a few % lower as satanist.
    You scored as Christianity.

Your views are most similar to those of Christianity. Do more research on Christianity and possibly consider being baptized and accepting Jesus, if you aren't already Christian. Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form.
