thanks to AI

zuck, musk, amodei, and altman

Brace for impact and the following hard rain.

it's fahrenheit 451 irl. so sad.

need we say more? republicans find your tiny balls that you haven't seen in decades and for once in your miserable lives do you f/ing job!

we don't know much about openai's finances except that altman is most likely qualitatively and quantitatively inflating them every time he's asked. i wonder if legal liability with be an implicit cost on them that slows this train down. hopefully it will.

did we read about this a few months ago?

impeach this evil child once and for all. then imprison him and his enablers for life. it's the only way forward.

gotta wonder to what extent AI was used to write the encyclical

you missed the point, comrade. these kids are graduating into an insanely shitty entry-level job market. that's squarely due to AI. Schmidt is pitching some bullshit about a rocket ship that will shoot you into prosperity to kids who are now saddled with debt and fewer and fewer ways to pay it back. if you're an established professional, times are still tough, but nothing like a recent undergrad.

to say everyone will benefit from datacenters is misinformed at best and dishonest at worst. leaving the environmental impact aside for a moment, all this "economic boom" has done thus far is to hire transient labor, not local labor, to build these monstrosities. the big tech firms and the remoras the suck onto them are getting wealthy, but the rest of us are seeing record inflation and wages that don't keep up with that. Plus basically everyone's job is sort of on the the chopping block now. So yeah, a public dividend for causing environment damage and employment disruption would be great.

can you imagine trump up there declaring to pay everyone a public dividend for the data centers that have been shat all over our country?

this is so awful. where is the last bastion of the people's interests? where is the government who is supposed to protect the people? we need real change here. we need to elect politicians who aren't afraid to put their finger in the chest of these hyperscalers and say i'm talking to you a$$hole.

is there anything that anyone can do to stop us from tearing ourselves to shreds in the name of capitalism? the insecure billionaire class should live in this world with the rest of us and not their sycophantic bubbles. shit is fucked up. and no politician has the spine to stop any of it.

somebody hotboxed the conference room or something. but i could've sworn you just pitched an idea to drag around a lifeless meatsuit of yourself in case some day you want your 20-year-old johnson back.
