Strangely enough, I'm kinda glad to see this project die. The air car I can see being ok for those with enough brains between their ears to effectively pilot one of these and not either kill themselves or six thousand other people. I think with the Solotrek there would have been WAY too many darwin award winners. The air car I believe will have a few less, but there will still be plenty of them. You have to consider one thing. By nature, a majority of the population survives on the cobwebs between their ears. Give them an effective enough tool and they will gladly kill themselves off.

This design is also very good, save for one thing. Even though I hate big government with a passion, I think for the safety of everyone this vehicle needs a separate licencing classification of its own. I don't think the FAA needs to handle licencing of these vehicles, but I definately think that some nationwide minimum standard, agreed to by all the states (leave the fed out of this as much as possible) needs to be in place before these are sold. Once that's in place, if each state wants to up the antie and bit and tighten down the rules in their respective state, then they're welcome to. But the key rule here is one thing. Protect the population from the droves of stupid people bent on self destruction that exists in their midst.
