I had to take a IBM training class many years ago before I was allowed to use the AIX H70's we had. The trainer started the class with one question, "What's your favorite editor?" There were a few vi users, a few Emacs users, and so forth. His response was, "Everybody who didn't answer vi is wrong. vi is your new favorite editor. Why you might ask? Because it is the only editor you are almost guaranteed to have on any *nix system. Learn it, use it, love it."

So now, when anybody asks, what's your favorite editor, I respond vi. I don't love it, but it's always there and it always works. Which is pretty good compared to some software I've used.

Yeah - except much less destructive and the flooding is usually delayed until spring.

White stuff. Falls from the sky. Sure sign of the apocalypse. If you see it, run to the grocery store and get all the foodstuffs you can - don't forget a gun to fight off the crowds. You'll need gas and candles too.

Watch the TV for emergency news, but remember, those people have no idea what's happening either, so take what they say with a grain of salt.

Totally there with you. Though, working outside in -10F with brisk breeze gets old fast (unless you're working hard). 60F spring and fall days - nothing better.

When your kids tell you that it's light out and you should be up like them.

I love my kids, but I wish they'd sleep later.
