... that someone actually, voluntarily works 55 hours in two jobs where one job would have fed them more than well enough. Don't they have a life? Moreover, it's a humiliation of everyone who has to do two jobs to get along...
Many countries limit the work week for employed work to something well below those 55 hours, and that's not to protect employers, it's to protect employees. It's quite an achievment for someone to anger employers and unions and likely also a few coworkers in one and the same act. Not to speak of their own health.
This employee is likely in the US where very few jobs have legal limits on how many hours an adult is allowed to sell to an employer. Since this person has held both jobs since March it's unlikely that they have angered either employer at this point.
It's likely that this person currently has no life. Many places still have strict lockdowns right now, we don't know where this person lives. They at least have work to stay busy.
We have no idea what their long-term goals are. Maybe they're buying thousands of dollars in booze every week. Maybe all of the extra money is being saved and invested so they can retire earlier. Maybe they were up to their eyeballs in debt and are getting it all paid off. Maybe they're donating a ton of money to organizations they care about. It's not really anyone's business what someone else does with their own money.
It's a tough break for Portland but if they're within 100 miles of Canada CBP can do whatever the fuck they want for no reason at all.
If you hop on I-5 in Portland and drive north until you reach the Canadian border, you'll be driving for almost 300 miles. There's a whole state between Portland and Canada.
Responsible adults should have 3-6 months of income saved up for emergencies, which would eliminate most or all of financial issues people might be facing today due to the outbreak.
The problem is that many places are going to be shut down for more than 3 months. There's even debate on what will be allowed to open by September, which will be 6 months after all of the shutdowns started. So 3-6 months of savings will not be enough in this case which is why many people are beginning to panic if they're not allowed to work and earn income.
eBay also said it will remove any listings, except for books, that mention COVID-19, coronavirus or 2019nCoV in the title or description.
Now how am I going to sell all my "I caught COVID-19 and all got was this lousy T-shirt" T-shirts?
You just have to write and sell an instructional book titled "How to Wear a Shirt That Says: "I caught COVID-19 and all got was this lousy T-shirt'" and include in the listing that a free shirt will be thrown in with the book.
The *only* seat design that might save your life in a crash is one with a parachute in it.
It might be too late for a parachute if the plane has already crashed.
The FTC has said that Qualcomm forced Apple to pay licensing fees for its technology in exchange for using its chips in iPhones.
Am I missing something? Isn't that how licensing works?
The robot will deliver goods at 50 designated Snackbot areas across campuses.
How is this better than the dozens of vending machines already all over campus? If it's not going to actually bring me my junk food, how is it an improvement? The difference is that with the bot I have to pick what I want in the app, go to the designated location, and then wait for the bot to show up with my order.
