Comment Only WEF Knows Truth and Can Enforce It (Score 0) 22

The WEF are the largest purporters of misinformation themselves. Consider Larry Fink, member, humanities undergrad and head of the most powerful financial institution on earth - Blackrock where he talks about how to force human behavior (https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FKwwN5kwjAtQ%3Fsi%3DBMMWFlPOU8ZgaCan). As head of Blackrock, he practically coined ethical investing, meaning forcing companies to employ DEI, ESG and of course, the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index to have their stock even be considered for investment.

And then let’s not forget WEF child The World Federation of Advertisers behind Among others GARM and GDI. See here why tech bros were not solely the blame of censorship (https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2F4dmzmJMb0fw%3Fsi%3DHV3O3gUm2-DQvRfI). It’s the WFA through their Cannes Lyon Alliance for Media Transparency and Accountability that designate all advertisers are not allowed to show stereotypical behavior (read normal) or even stereotypical families (read all one race). That's too normal.

Yes, most Europeans do not want to come to the U.S.A thanks to the relative piece that's ensued following WWII thanks to the efforts of NATO and its largest member nation. People who do arrive here are grateful because they see a the truth it appears generations who have been here can no longer see.

Are you suggesting that the fact that immigrants are settling in the South proves that Southerners couldn't be racist?

No, that racism exists everywhere and isn't significantly different in northern or southern states as is being made out. Even your link provides what I would call a questionable study that still goes on and ranks New York 13th while Texas 26th for racially charged Google searches (yes, even that part hard to believe) but also concludes it provides some evidence race is not a factor in Republican or conservative voting choices.

Of course, you probably only read the teasers attempting to re-use data the author hoped might be indicative of racial motivations in spite of minor disparities in northern vs southern replies to the same questions even when it likely couldn't even do that. The differences are almost small enough to be accounted for by the northerners who hold the belief the entire south is an ignorant, uneducated cesspool while rather ironically decrying how unprejudiced they are.

Are you suggesting that the decision of where to live in a new country is made based on a foreknowledge of how they will be treated by the other inhabitants, and not on things like, oh, I don't know, proximity to the point of entry, number of others of the same background to offer a social support structure, the existence of some governmental services to support the immigrant community?

No, I am suggesting people don't leave their birth home without and idea of where they are going or would actively try to go to a place worse than where they are at, ergo, they still think the U.S.A is the best place to go and of all places, they still head to the south more than anywhere else. I will say once again some prejudice is showing when you don't think all people can think, choose or do for themselves.

Not to say that you are a bad person, but your anecdotal perspective does not constitute a compelling argument.

And the previous argument was or you just agreed with it? Here's an actual one for you The U.N. World Migration Report. The United States has been the number one destination of international migrants since 1970. Here's another, The latest U.S Census report which states "Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia still account for 67% if population growth and Texas is still number one of out those.

So it's either all the native oppressors are moving to these four states (not likely) or it's still the place most people who leave there country of origin want to come. Since many of these migrants are so-called "third-world" and would be the very subjects of the so-called oppression, why do they want to come here of all places? The answer is pretty simple but I'll ask you in the form of a question. It's so bad compared to what? There is no utopia but if you have one you should move there because apparently everyone in the rest of the world thinks the best you can get is here.

Comment Thank Social Media, Now The Main News Source (Score 2) 25

Any effort to save the media on both local and national level is an almost doomed to failure. Social media echo chambers and like buttons have become the rewarding if not outright addicting behavior most users prefer and that's where they go to get their news, in the form of post, links and video that inform their particular groups opinions and emboldens their sense of being informed to the point many are willing to shout down others for disagreeing with them without the forethought there might be something they have not considered.

Perhaps some do still care about facts but most often they can't know all the other facts left out to support a particular position. When they look at actual media, local or national, they only want to find concurrence and go where it can be found. Meantime, as media outlets loose more and more money, they have stopped chasing truth and started chasing what subscribers want.

I can't see any solution other than ending social media and since that won't happen, I suppose we have to carry on with partisan vitriol until the next civil war or wars makes us rethink everything or hold out hope whatever we do as a society won't end up in our destruction. While I can't actually say this is true, I can can't help but suspect when we all come to agreement, that's the point we will head into oblivion.

Actually that's not what's happening. Congress works on the Unites States Code, a relatively simple body of laws and the Administrative Procedures Act, which lead the laws into becoming to the Code of Federal Regulations that governs each agency, much bigger than the U.S. Code. Some U.S. Code can be ambiguous, and the 1984 rule said in effect the court should defer to agency interpretation where it's not clear. But that's not the purpose of the Supreme Court, who are supposed to determine if that was the intent of the constitution and congress; Otherwise, the agency is effectively making laws and have the right to say it's okay, and I agree it should not be that way.

I have a fairly old model Asus mesh system and the fix as I understand was to a Trend Net AiProtection integration - various different things no user ought to want like blacklisting of bad sites, etc. I had this off and I would have thought that would be enough but it still crashed the router and took a complete reset of it and all nodes to fix.
