Journal stoolpigeon's Journal: Hulu continues to please me 4

If you can't access Hulu where you live, and this post annoys you, I'm apologizing in advance.

Hulu has added the NHL as a content provider. They have clips, condensed games ( a highlight real I guess) and full games. I'm not sure what the exact delay is on the full games but as I am watching zero hockey right now, it is pretty stinking cool.

But even cooler, they have classic games. Last night I watched Game 6 of the 1991 Stanley Cup finals between the Penguins and the North Stars. I haven't watched the full game since I watched it live. I surprised myself by how into it I was. It was great. Knowing the outcome didn't take away the fun I had watching it. It was also awesome to see a lot of my favorite players on the ice again. I'll be watching more of those classic games.

  • I'm lovin Hulu too. I watched all of LOST over the Christmas break, got caught up on several episodes of Stargate, 24, V, Who do you think you are?, Ghost Hunters... Its been great.

Funny enough, I had cancelled cable and Sat about 2 years ago so the ability to watch these shows has been nice. I don't miss the bills from either and since I get most of my news off the web anyway I haven't really missed TV for the most part. The small fraction that does is satisfied with the Huluability to fill the idiot box n

    • I'm in the same boat, though I do miss live sports. I don't get NBC so my tv choices are even more limited than usual without cable.

But we are in the same boat as cable didn't deliver enough to make it worth it and with what's on-line it really didn't make sense to pay them for internet access and television.

      • For the few games I really have to see... there is a sports bar about 150 ft from my condo. Cold beer, the games and those hideous South Beach women make it a worthwhile trip. Other than that I'm good ;)

        • That's nice. I don't have anything that close. In fact I don't even know where there is a true sports bar in Orlando. I know they are around but I can't think of one off the top of my head within a half hour drive of where I live.

There is a Beef O'Bradys but I think of that as more of a restaurant than a sports bar.
