Firstly, I'm not new here. Secondly, ok yeah I should have said viable because while there are a million flavours of linux they all have issues like you said. Unless John Q Public can just install it or buy a pc with it on and it runs all the programs and games (or enough of them) it'll probably stay specialist and hobbyist.
