Great idea about the card. I was part of a startup that developed a card like that. We were partnered with Visa Europe. The card could do dynamic CVV and generate codes based on challenges, amounts and the PIN. The display could be eInk or LCD. The microprocessor used the 6502 instruction set so my c64 days came in useful. The start up failed as banks didnâ(TM)t see the value over a $10 US credit card vs a mobile app.

Great podcast about OneCoin and Dr Ruja https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fopen.spotify.com%2Fshow%2F5nk7d9MLCgE3M47mXPW7MP. A couple of things really stood out

  • They just gave a value for the OneCoins. This value kept rising but no was asking why? You couldn't trade the coins. They kept saying there was an exchange coming.
  • They use multi level marketing groups to promote the coin. These people also fell for the scam and thought they would become the wealthiest people in the world.
  • OneCoin created a platform to allow OneCoin holders to buy products https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdealshaker.com%2F. The platform was full of junk products. The guy that build the platform said he would give a free beer to the podcast people if they could find three things on the platform that they would want and could only buy with OneCoin (no cash).

I'd argue that the USA has enormous leverage over China by buying their cheap consumer goods to keep their factories going and people employed. China has failed to develop a consumer orientated middle class that can purchase these goods and with current problems in the real estate market the Chinese won't be spending as much.

I had a good friend that was very smart. One of the two smartest people I've ever been friends with. He coasted through school and high school. Got an academic scholarship to a top high school. Once he really had to start to apply himself at university he was unable to. He didn't have that work ethic or drive. Has pretty much done nothing with his life.

I've just moved to Windows 10 for work and and Edge just doesn't run on my machine. It opens and then closes straight away. Googling the problem has shown it appears to be affecting a reasonable number of users. I can't be bothered to spend more than an hour trying to fix it.

Not being harsh but you should actually read one of those history books instead of seeing them. Once Germany failed to conquer the USSR in 1941 it was game over for them. The only thing that the allies did by invading Europe in 1944 was ensure that western Europe wasn't occupied by the Russians. I'm not sure what this steamrolling of Western Europe means since they had already done that in 1940. America was certainly decisive in ensuring that D Day happened and western Europe was liberated but Germany was always going to be defeated by the Russians once they failed to land the knockout blow. I've always wondering that if they had captured Moscow wether it would have one the war for them.
