Interestingly enough, Apple was the only US company manufacturing in China which had independent labour inspections to ensure that there was none of that happening, no child labour, etc etc etc.

Many countries make the time and effort to rehabilitate prisoners, rehab programs, education, psychological help, job training, skills training, etc etc etc and their recidivism rates are way way lower than the USA.

Just because the US says something does not make it automatically right.
US brutality and highly punitive legal system has NOT made the USA safer, you have 1% of your adult population behind bars at TAX PAYERS EXPENSE and another 3-4% on parole or other supervised release systems.

The US health system also allows employers to hold healthcare over the heads of employees as a threat. Fire at will.

So the world says the USA must have the same universal healthcare, same compulsory holidays, same minimum wages for ALL employees, same maternity care provisions, same education system, etc etc etc

It is unfair the USA does not have to do this.

And the rest of the world looks at the USA, its current administration, and says exactly the same thing.
The world can not allow the USA to dominate our markets in manufacturing and digital technologies.

So the USA looses access to 96% of the worlds population.

Because the government looks after the everyone by setting minimum obligations , you life is surrounded by it, unit standards so you know how much a lb/kg actually is vs some random measurement that you have to take responsibility and work out yourself.
In better countries the price you see on the shelf is what you pay, not just a figure that looks low that you can then add on a whole pile of taxes etc on top of knowing the majority will never be able to work out the real price.
AND, the US does NOT set the standards for any other country because the US system is NOT the best, not by a long shot.

I would say there is a very high correlation between those who say "parents should do this" and the people who love to punch down.
