The glorified AI around are only pattern matchers. We are not going to find AGI for another 50-100 years(even more). The current situation is nothing but a bubble that Is going to come back and bite us soon. But we already have invested billions and trillions into this eventhough we are well past the wins. This is going to be a lot painful than the dot com bust.

Besides these I think the nepotism and opportunism has eroded the quality of people substantially in the industry. I know several top brass computer engineers sleeping rough outside the industry or at low rung jobs while artists, photographers, lawyers etc adoring the program managers and director or VP roles and proudly setting the strategy and roadmaps for the companies and industry. What a world!

The disconnect I often see is that the world is thinking that Trump is taking the wrong path while Trump is trying to change the path itself. Report after report talks about the economic or monetary losses the tariffs could cause, and yet he comes out coolly with not concerned at all because in his mind this is a total transformation and not a deviation. This wonâ(TM)t stop here and will run its course to whatever it may end with.

Good observation. There are all sorts of divides in India and casual racism is quite common. These days a common broad divide is based on religion and most of the minorities get the stick from the Hindu Majority in India and now abroad as well. The funny thing is Christians are a minority in India and they get actively sidelined even in a Christian majority countries like US by Hindus(of course systematically and nicely with a smile).

Not necessarily. Microsoft , if it ever feels shortage for patents, can always buy other companies who have those. As far as the OS goes, they already have a lead in the business, and the best strategy for them is to copy original works from other competitors and provide them to their wider customer base.

Haven't you heard this again and again " The IQ of a group is equal to that of the least intelligent" . I guess it applies for the kids also. When you are in a social euphoria, rarely do you care about your surroundings or the interests of the being in the surroundings. Think about the noise and scenes we make when we meet a dear friend after a long while is a public place. I am not presuming that a small noise from the car is goining to gain their attention for good, but rather it would be advisable to the driver that he better stop if doesnt want to make a genocide. In my opinion, the cell phone also will put you into such a social euphoria at times, and you will loose your sense or manners in the public. I have seen a guy kicking a post while talking on the phone. Who in their right sense will do that in public! Perhaps, the right manners to teach kids would not be how to cross a road properly, but how not to embarass yourself while using a mobile phone, since mobile phones will be a part of our life for the forseable future...
