This is completely off. Castellano is the historical name, but both the normative body (Real Academia *Española*) and all government documentation (in as many Spanish speaking countries as I'm aware off, including Spain) refer to it as Español. It is the official recommendation.

https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rae.es%2Fdpd%2Fespa%25C3%25B1ol

There is a movement of calling it castellano in regions with a cooficial language. That's making everything confusing for the sake of giving participation awards. Calling it español doesn't make Galego more or less important, or Galicia more or less included in the identity of Spain as a whole.

Hell, Napolitans, who one could hardly argue they are without pride, call the national language Italiano, whereas some of them speak napoletano.

Nah.

All over Latin America and Spain you can hear both. I'd say Latin America slightly favors "español" and Spain "castellano", but it really changes with region and age group. It originated from the Castilla Crown, hence the name.

The recommendation nowadays is to call it "español" everywhere. And I think that's where it is going. But in Galicia, Basque Country and Catalonia that change will probably come last.

Where did you read the claim that magnetometers cannot be improved? I was just stating that quantum technology has been used by military since, at least, 70 years.

BTW calling atomic clocks "classical" devices (or non quantum) is not something the physics community would be in agreement.

Then I guess them GPS satellites must be using pendulums for time keeping. Hell the military must be still using valves, as semiconductors must be sci-fi.

What a load of BS.

Yeah. The title is phrased like they solved the Javier Stokes blowup or something like that. In reality they found an speed up. I hope that at least this time they decreased the asymptotic order by an integer value and not from N^2.6x to N^2.5x (or something like that) like they did a couple of years ago for matmul.

I guess everyone on this site knows how to prevent ads on desktop, but I still see lots of people struggling on mobile. Time for some community service. Use Firefox on Android (and soon in iOS too, when Apple allows 3rd party rendering engines) and install uBlock Origin. Extra points: you can configure Firefox not to open youtube.com URLs in the proprietary app. On TV you are screwed, except you have Android TV and run Youtube through the browser.
