I agree with your conclusion, but the reason Chinese appear to be less negative about Xi is that the state runs a gigantic propaganda machine, prohibits the entire population from accessing websites of their choosing, has literal slave camps euthanizing people, sends goons to harass expats who aren't kissing enough ass and now wants to literally forbid you from leaving the country to go anywhere for any reason just because you have marketable knowledge.
yes America is becoming less free and a slim majority of the population are patently retarded based on recent voting patterns but anyone here trying to argue against the fact that China is a totalitarian shit hole is either a wumao or otherwise ought to be ashamed of themselves.

I love a good conspiracy theory, but this really is just a good cost-saving measure by not having to pay people to walk around, change labels, get it wrong, have confused customers make claims at the enquiry desk, etc etc. I'm honestly surprised more stores don't already do this and it's a story in 2026.

I find it amazing that nobody sat down and planned this out with this thinking in place - I know in healthcare it's basically impossible to do anything without having to integrate according to ABC standards and aligning to XYZ regulation. It really seems like someone just said "yeah let's use Flock, here's a search engine, have fun!". Truly mind boggling.

'Enterprise Edition' does add paid operational features:
- Automated user provisioning/deprovisioning and central rights management
- Audit trails and administrative dashboards
- Mail high availability/clustering and prioritised security patch channel
- Some proprietary add-ons from upstream vendors (all of whom have solid FOSS products) (e.g., Element Server Suite Pro features, Open-Xchange Dovecot Pro, Nextcloud Enterprise admin/audit/Guard)
