You are a good writer. Slashdot is bad. Because of the people in charge. Hackernews is better. Don't feel alone. The people didn't go away, they just moved to other sites.

It says just two workers have formed the union and 226 have signed 'union cards'. So it looks like not so many people are on-board at this time. But I suppose that could change quickly?

Does this change the new hire process and who gets hired? Does the union have a say on who gets hired? Do you have to join the union? What are the benefits of the union for the worker? Does this mean increased pay and better working conditions and harder to get fired? Do you have to pay dues? Is a union good for the worker or does it add another layer of corruption to the stack?

peak is 11 hour days 5 days in a row for a month lifting pulling pushing 0-40lbs totes carts can be loaded with up to 20 or so totes and you can push that all day you are basically conan the barbarian at the wheel https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2Fz5KYZ74OAak%3Ft... some make it some die strong survive and become stronger than ever

Why pay out early until the winner is certified and no challenges remaining in the courts? Why not hold that money and collect all that sweet interest? I mean until its officially sorted out and all appeals exhausted they have very valid excuse to hold the money. Kinda strange to me.

well... amazon still isnt able to pick up items dropped on the group with a robot yet. so as long as you have the iq to pick up something from the ground then YOURE HIRED!

right now there is basically no requirements from amazon on product packaging. its basically anything you can slap a barcode on. it can be any size, shape, or weight (under the sorting center limit). if it was standardized when received by amazon then it would be way easier to stow, pick, ship these products and automate the whole thing. but one reason i heard is amazon doesn't do this because they can cram way more items in their warehouse he way they currently do it. how do those items get in the standard containers? who knows, that would be up to the sellers/product makers individually, could be robots or human. I mean if they are making the same produc over and over then that part could be automated to put in standard box

i would love to see a robot pick a the correct set of butterfly stickers in the back of fully packed kiva pod with a takt time of 6 seconds then i would be a believer

defiine "soon" . I mean a product falls on the AR floor or out of a tote on the conveyor and the whole thing shuts down. ARSAWS break down all the time. Kivas will just smash items on the floor to peices. I saw one demolish a large bottle of dish soap everywhere. That was fun. Anyway I guess if they packaged all seller products in a uniform type container then they could probably automate it better but there's probably tradeoffs with that.

welp looks like you just proved p = np better go collect ur million dollar prize

All it takes is 10-20 losers to mod you down and silence you forever! Just think about that. Piss off 10-20 autists and they take away your right to all future comments. Thats freedom of speech if you ask me.

If people who illegally cross the border are undocumented immigrants, then people who sell drugs illegally are simply unlicensed pharmacists!

Do white people decide? Do black people decide? Do racists decide? Does saying certain words make you racist? Does it take discrimination to be racist? What if people in other races disagree about what is racist? Does feeling pride in your own race make you racist? Does hating your own race make you racist? Are YOU racist? Is santa claus racist? Is white jesus racist?
