Holmes is a childhood friend of his daughter's, or daughter of his childhood friend or something like that, so he has known her all her life. I can't see how she could have been funded any other way.

Though this is america where people don't give jobs or security clearences or such to their relatives and friends.

I liked the combination of "...responding to ... consumers' concern about the environmental impact ... That means adding bubble envelopes". Those bubble envelopes are a glued sandwich of polyetheline and paper, which can't be recycled. Good job adressing environmental concerns, Amazon! I'm sure Scott Pruitt is thrilled.

Iâ(TM)m the opposite: Iâ(TM)d much rather just have a big block text so I can read it and enjoy it rather than have to move my eye all over the place to get around these pointless pictures that get in the way.

But I know not everybody is like that. I wish âoereader modeâ really was about reading and would strip all images out

I wouldn't want to be a beta tester for a 1st gen device with no pedigree. Maybe after a few iterations, sure.

I dunno, I happily replaced a blackberry with an original iphone shortly after launch, and used it for three years.

And to be fair, Andy did found Danger and Android, so there's some pedigree there.

That seems ridiculous. It would be diametrically the opposite of the Whole Foods brand.

True. But the brand is softening due to mainstreamng of ts niche. There's a perfectly reasonable alternative scenario in which AMZN purchased infrastructure (warehouses, distribution, shops) and supply chain (a lot of the "organic" stuff is just product lines of the same multinationals like Nestle, Kellogs, Coca-Cola etc) and didn't have a high value for the brand.

Still makes the ideas of mixing stock-taking robots with customers absurd, I'm just talking about the idea that amzon wanted the brand positioning of WFM
