The Red Cross website is not responding to http gets, and I don't have time right now to sit on the phone, I'll do that when I get home tonight. In the meantine, if anyone hears anything on the radio, sees something on TV, or reads something somewhere that's specific to RN's willing to high-tail it somewhere, please e-mail me.

Red Cross isn't taking volunteers for Katrina so you are probably better off contacting medical professional specific relief organizations.
Same thing for anyone else with specialized skills.
I dunno if this helps (Score:2)
But per CNN [cnn.com]:
Mayo said the state is asking for doctors, nurses and emergency medical technicians from neighboring states for their help. Those who want to assist should contact their state's licensing board, which should then get in touch with Mississippi's board for accreditation.
I hope you can find a way. I browsed some relief sites but they all seem to either take donations only or want volunteers for callcenters outside the area.

If you find a place, I will fly down there with you.
