Comment MOD parent WAY up and add soundtrack. (Score 1) 430

I love this so much I must break the law and improve it...

First, understand the song;

Second, watch the best performance of this ever;

Third, lyrics again slightly modified;

This is the very model of a modern pirate metaphor.
We're needed as our leadership is clearly challenged heretofore.
They call it theft for reasons that are clearly quite subliminal.
In order to support a model that is quite primordial.
Infringement is a civil matter, extortion is quite criminal.
But legislation's killing our new highway that is digital.
And so we need a party that will argue antithetical.
In order to preserve our freedoms are indispensable.

Finally, if you're young, put this in perspective;

UCLA had been using "Video Furnace" to provide video content in the context of courses (integrated with UCLA Moodle as well), and has recently suspended this based on a challenge from AIME. The article gives a little more background.

IANAL but I am a Graduate student at UCLA and anytime a company wants "protection" money for something my PUBLIC University already paid for AND am using under fair-use laws, I scream Soprano.

Paying for protection?? Isn't that mob turf?
Oh well..

Learn Nagios the FAN way;

Comment Re:This years Defcon: SERIOUSLY Not good (Score 3, Interesting) 154

I held in and was probably the one you heard, "maybe tomorrow will be better." Nope.

The words "sell out" came to mind. Remember the early burning-man days? Defcon was once a group that met for a "love of the craft" that has become a certification desktoper recruitment fest.

Sad really, maybe time to let this one go the way of E3 no?

Having both Sharepoint (Microsoft) and MediaWiki (Confluence) I can reliably say that you're both correct (Google and Microsoft). What is interesting in Wave is the use of open protocols, code, and the convergence of Wiki, Jabber, and Collaborative Team applications that make big organizations use Sharepoint.
