Submission + - net neutrality blasted by MPAA bosses

proudhawk writes: "p2p blog reports today (http://www.p2pnet.net/story/15241) that the MPAA's Dan Glickman is at it again, this time with a broadside from the USS MPAA against net neutrality at his recent ShoWest appearance.

he was quited as saying "We are opposing so-called 'net neutrality' government action.".

sounds like yet one more way to keep us all on the short end of the stick folks."

Submission + - MPAA touts record year for hollywood!

proudhawk writes: "in an article posted via p2pnet today (http://www.p2pnet.net/story/15234), MPAA boss Dan Glickman told the ShoWest convention in Las Vegas: "Today, we stand on a new mountaintop, and I have to say: I like the view."

He further went on to state: "We had about 5 percent growth in both the domestic and worldwide box office, all-time highs on both fronts reminding us once again that good stories well told always find a place in our hearts, our lives and our local theaters."

Considering the legal wrangles the MPAA (and its sister association, the RIAA) have gotten into over the last several years regarding "online piracy" one begins to wonder?

Are they really losing money?"
