Yes. I would buy that sort of phone if it was cheaper than the rest.

But I guess also, it should be shaped sort of like a penis, so it brings me comfort to hold it all day. And when others see me with it, it should draw their attention and they should wish they were me. And there should always be sexy voice on the other end of the line, just loud enough for others to hear.

Oh and also it should be soft, double as a pillow, for when I fall asleep talking to it.

But I am not addicted to my phone at all. No, I just hold it out in my hand all day because I never know when someone might need me. It just makes me feel good and safe is all. And when I look at my hand and my phone isn't there, I feel a sort of sudden panic. I know it's not a dependency, because I see lots of people holding theirs just like me. It's really very normal. That is why I hold it all day.

Who even thinks that way? Do you rationalize all your overprice purchased based on an unknown costs such as a perception of what might have been done by people you don't know in the years preceding? Are you even a consumer? Or do you make your own chips in the basement?

Normal consumers think in terms of value that they will get out of the things they buy.

Microsoft is a BAD company. It has a track record of using its market dominance to bully manufactures/resellers into committing antitrust violations. Yes ANTITRUST VIOLATIONS.

I paid Microsoft for decades for software I never used. Every time I purchased a computer, a portion of my purchase went to Microsoft (and Adobe and others) for software I never wanted and never used. And the products all came with an after sale license (lease), where the terms specifically granted me a full refund. Every time I tried to get my refund, it was refused. The manufacture pointed to Microsoft and Microsoft pointed back to the manufacturer. I spent months trying to get them to agree to their own terms, but it was no use. They acted like they didn't understand their own contracts. But I assure you that if I started to resell Microsoft software, they would understand every letter of it.

The end result is that you should remember that Microsoft would kill you and everyone you love if they had the opportunity. hehe. But really, you should not buy Microsoft because as we all should know by now: if we ever allow them to get into a Monopoly position again, that they will abuse it.

Microsoft is a bully and a thief. I know, they did this to me for decades.

I have a soft spot for American companies. But Microsoft is not one of them. They positioned themselves as the enemy of the free market for too long. I would be happy if they died.

I have no problem with Microsoft producing tablets and calling them "laptops". It will just show more people what I already know: they are liars and they need to go.

Let Microsoft fall back to video game consoles for kids and compete with crappy companies like Sony. Let real computing hardware remain competitive and in a free market as god intended.

However, Bill Gates has given a lot to charity since he retired. I didn't like him years ago, but at least he is being generous with his ill gotten funds. In high school, I wrote code that was copied by 3 other students. The teacher said he would take the 90%ish grade on it and divide it between all of us. I stood my ground and said it was unacceptable to get dinged because others cheated and the teacher told me that it was my fault for not protecting my own code and didn't really have a way to tell it was mine. But I was the only one that was so adamant about it.

Later in the year, it was discovered that one of the students had written a fake login screen for the computers and was collecting user passwords. He was also selling commercial software and games that he had "cracked" to other students.

I couldn't understand why someone so obviously smart in computing would not just write the code for the assignments. But some people are just drawn to the dark side of computing. I would imagine that he is working for the government now, breaking into yours and my computers and phones right now. That is where the darkest of darkest people get jobs.

For people that live in China, please use TOR.

Take your security into your own hands. Don't depend on external sites to protect you. SSL has been compromised in the past, browser exploits do occur and your computer will keep logs of what you visit.

It's much better to use TOR and setup to tunnel through a bridge to get the information you want. Your country will not be able to monitor your information gathering, your browser will erase all logs on exit and wikipedia will not have an IP log of your visit. You will not be depending on the security of the end site (like wikipedia) to protect you.

This will be great for automating the process of generating fake landing pages for phishing attacks. Think phishing worms.

I like your ideas, but I don't think you go far enough.

Don't even have any unencrypted partitions on your Linux with whole-disk-encryption. Instead have the boot drive on a micro SD card. Then put the SD card in a smooth oval container. Lather the container in jelly and stick it up your butt. But sure to go before you do this so that you don't flush your boot loader into the Rockies mid-flight.

Or... just run linux on a USB stick or SD card and then pop it into any Intel based PC/laptop/tablet once you arrive and save yourself the purchase cost.

Also, encrypt your stick and include a Windows partition with random data on it, so the border guards won't intrude on your business.

You are not considering the economic benefits of creating unrest around the world for countries selling the more powerful weapons in the world.

And the long term benefit of dominating a country and controlling its trade once it has submitted to your will.

Well those are man-hours. The price for them is a lot cheaper if they used women to do the work.

Many countries are forced to buy and sell goods in US dollars creating an artificial demand for the US dollar. If the US tries and fails to create new international trade deals then there would be less reason to purchase US dollars.

I don't know about 50%, but if some some US leaders try to renegotiate international trade and is incompetent, then the US dollar will suffer.

war4peace, you can mitigate issues by running Kodi on a Raspberry Pi. They cost about $100, but can run as an independent media server right next to your TV. They include wifi so cabling will not be an issue. This will isolate security problems from your laptop or PC that you may be using now. So infections will not effect your personal computer documents.

You can also set your router to isolate your raspberry Pi to a separate network from the one you use for computers, laptops and phones. This way a complete infection of your pi due to poor Kodi security will not effect any of your personal devices or monitor your network traffic.

The pi runs on SD cards with no hard drive, so if the system is compromised, you can simply wipe the SD card and reinstall. The process takes about 1 hour.
