The company gets to collect data. Your data. They'll get a windfall about how these dishwashers are actually used. This will be useful for their engineering and marketing. They'll also sell your data for profit. There is no way the backend will be run indefinitely, it will be shutdown at some point. There is also no guarantee that they'll not charge for the service. I would expect charging to be introduced and then the service shut down when it's too costly to keep running.

I predict that nothing good will come of this. There will be too many false positives for human analysts to process and if the AI isn't checked, innocents will die.

I'd have thought that the volume you pass through remains constant. Assuming constant rainfall, the amount of water in this volume is also constant and you collect all of it. Thus the Sv component shouldn't change. The faster you move the less rain from above so faster is better for the Sh part.

MacOS doesn't go from in RAM to on disc/SSD. It's got an intermediary step where it compresses RAM. In my experience 8GB is workable if you are restrained in the number of applications you've got open. If you are liberal about opening applications and browser tabs, more memory is sensible.
