Meanwhile China's Xi Jinping has re-embraced socialist values:
Xi has said that "only socialism can save China."[427] Xi has also declared socialism with Chinese characteristics to be the "only correct path to realize national rejuvenation."[428] According to BBC News, while the CCP was perceived to have abandoned its communist ideology since it initiated economic reforms in the 1970s, Xi is believed by some observers to be more believing in the "idea of a communist project,"[429] being described as a Marxist–Leninist by former Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd.[430] Xi's emphasis on prioritizing ideology has included re-asserting the Party's goal of eventually realizing communism and reprimanding those who dismiss communism as impractical or irrelevant.

With ideas like that, China's people don't have to worry about being tossed in the gutter if they lose their jobs to automation.
On another note, with ideas like that, no wonder China has become America's adversary. Just one decade ago companies were falling over themselves to outsource from or sell to China.
