First time accepted submitter Z_God writes "Disappointed with KDE 4's performance and other shortcomings, Timothy Pearson continued KDE 3.5 development under the name Trinity. Tuesday the first major update of the Trinity Desktop Environment was released providing an alternative upgrade path for KDE users that do not feel comfortable with KDE 4. Google Starts Indexing Facebook Comments 167

First time accepted submitter SharkLaser writes "Users of Facebook Connect have previously enjoyed extra privacy as it was harder for Google to index comments made on the platform. Google, which also runs the competing service Google+, has now started indexing Facebook's public comments as well as comments made on platforms Disqus and Intense Debate, which all used programming that was hard for Google to read. Public comments and links made on those platforms will now be directly visible and searchable in Google."

Forgot to say, "...in public places" in the title.

This law is talking about areas that are public. And you have to think what can be covered by that....

Can Wal-mart? Can the Wal-mart parking lot?

No to both answers.

Simple way to view it, anywhere your tax dollars pay for upkeep. A court house, a public park, a school are some examples.

With the thought of this looming, if ever there was a time for mass-adoption of GPGP or other open PGP/encryption methods, this is it. Shared keys, trust, and full party encryption needs to be adopted and expected by the public before that's outlawed as well in order to allow this type of system.

You'd hope any spyware scanner worth using would have picked it up 20x faster.

Not all anti-virus and malware scanners will include commercial products in their database.

Unless of course the commercial product in question is a Windows system file...
