perhaps s_l2k3 is right, the idea behind friendster is not all bad. in fact, i propose to borrow the idea and create a new website...www.foester.com (yes, someone, not me, is reserving the domain...that's so lame) analogous to friendster, foester would allow people to find out who their enemies are. you could post whatever vitriol you wanted about any member of foester. on foester, you could read hurled insults and embarrassing stories. people would be more inclined to look for their enemies, so they could be the one to zing them into shame. of course, this is not a new idea, slashdot already has foes and insults and stories are commonly recounted on craigslist missed connections (go to best of cl for the cream of the crop), but foester would be a social network devoted to spite. your only friends would be the enemies of your enemy, the only survivors would be those with a strong psyche. we could even have a ratings system based upon the enemies of history, both ridiculous and infamous. this world would be utterly free with social darwinism as its philosophy, a world which is nasty, brutish, and short. who wants to find friends, when you can destroy enemies?
