let's start a Civil War, because that is obliviously a great solution

Well "obliviously" you're oblivious to the fact that this is pretty much exactly what it's going to take to solve things at this point.

You've got a government illegally deporting US citizens in clear violation of court orders. Exactly what else are you going keep letting this rogue government do before you actually start doing something about it? Wait on Democrats to magically solve all this? Or do you still believe the Superman movies were actually documentaries?

Comment Bought site-unseen? (Score 0) 272

Sounds like they did the silly consumer mistake and just bought it in a hurry, based solely on reviews by some site(s), instead of doing proper research of the features beforehand. Grabbing the manual online isn't that hard to know how easy or complicated the thing is going to be to operate (and would've seen this well in advance of spending 4 hrs installing it and then finding out!)

Comment Not the USA! (Score 1) 114

I understand the USA had a system that worked in the 60s but things do improve over 60 years.

Except that the USA never improves, as can be seen in the current political climate there.

50 years ago: Nixon commits a crime, and resigns to avoid impeachment (which would have gotten rid of him). Later pardoned by Ford because reasons.
Today: A convicted felon and rapist is elected President.... again!

If you mean Bitcoin, the particular fork the most people think is "real," then that's true... for the moment anyway. It's based entirely on that "most people think is 'real'" though.

Exactly - people treat it as 'real' because it happened to be the first (or as some say, 'the original shitcoin').... until something else becomes 'real' enough to gain traction against it.

Now the crypto bros will all try to claim that can't happen, but Bitcoin is living proof that an alternative form of money can gain traction - if it happened once, it can happen again. And there's nothing Bitcoin can do to prevent that from happening.

Comment Decline of SO because of AI?? (Score 1) 220

Goel cites the decline of Stack Overflow, a technical forum where programmers historically found detailed explanations from experienced developers, as particularly concerning

To me, I highly doubt AI is responsible for the decline of StackOverflow - more like its stupid rewards/reputation system that incentivizes karma hoaring by blasting answers in an effort to get more 'points', as if it's all a game.

Sure, AI has made it easier to create useless answers, but this decline was happening long before all this AI stuff started.

You, really are not that important.

That's how it starts: get rid of the lower end to show the masses they need to fall in line, or else.
