This is exactly what all those researchers and whistleblowers at Anthropic and OpenAI have been blowing. When they said AI "superintelligence" is going to kill all humanity by the end of this decade, it's these AI hoaxes that they were exactly talking about. Someone named Coxon recently was so annoyed by the "supertintelligent" AI responses at Anthropic, that he quit from his job. He warned us all that enough is not being done at Anthropic and OpenAI to stop taking their models seriously. He even went so far as to say, "This not a marketing stunt."

If we continue taking the "AI" seriously, we risk triggering a 3rd world war.

Otherwise the thing can connect to any open wifi, or a neighbors LG TV or smart washing machine or smart microwave and still spy on you. LG smart devices are really smart these days, unlike the buyers. They create an ad-hoc mesh network among themselves and will eventually find a way to still connect to the internet, all without your knowledge.

The only way is to open up the TV unit and physically disable the WiFi module with a soldering iron. If you really think you need the "smarts" in your TV in the future, you can solder it back.

Why? OpenAI already has AGI as Sam has been claiming. The truth is, they are burning their money so fast competing with each other, with no commensurate returns. They cannot say, "Oh well, our revenues are not going up as fast as we had anticipated and if we continue burning money at the current rate, we will go bankrupt. So we are slowing down our burn rate." Investors will then pull out and their business then crashes. So instead they are planning for a soft landing, by telling the world we are doing it voluntarily out of concerns for humanity and blah blah blah... to avoid the impending AI crash.

The truth is, AI is bringing measly little productivity gains. It hasn't turned out to be all that it was touted to be by the AI bros.

Good time for China to catch up and overtake I guess. Their models are 6x to 10x cheaper already. And time for some other countries to catch up too.

That will be small, compared to the reputation cost for OpenAI. One sleazy company.

Companies embody the culture of their founders. Once it is set, it is hard to change afterwards. OpenAI's Altman and Meta's Zuckerberg come across to me as individuals with very similar traits. They have no qualms and very little in ethics.

I don't know what production capacity you are talking about. Last I heard, Elon is worried Americans aren't producing enough.
