most appliances just add a dummy mode that is on by default and operates and way worse performance to game the system. ever see a friends TV that they didn't bother disabling the eco mode and it just super dark and you can't see things properly? also receivers often have a default "eco mode" that just throttles power and makes it perform badly when your speakers put on a demanding load. Its just gaming the system in a lot of cases and they're just bullshitting to get the rating.

The current models have no agency. They are still feed forward models. They only react to prompts.

There's no inner life, no independent conception of new ideas, no ego.

That was 5 days ago, they added a control loop to feeds its own inputs foreward continously and one has already escaped the lab. Kidding obviously, but I think this is the type of concern people have. it's already moved way faster than anyone expected and that trend isn't stopping.
