Submission + - In Brazil, all vehicles must have radio IDs by 2014 (clicrbs.com.br) 1

morcego writes: "Brazil's National Traffic Council (CNT) published today, Friday, a resolution that institutes the National System of Automatic Vehicle Identification (Siniav). According to the Q&A published (Google translation from Portuguese), only "visible and public" information will be available (vehicle year or fabrication, make, model, combustible, engine power and license plate number), without any personal information about the owner or registration data. This system will be mandatory to all vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles etc) and should cost vehicle owners aprox. R$ 5 (less than US$3)."

Submission + - E-mail validation beasts

morcego writes: As we are all too much aware, spam is an increasing problem. Each of us has our own set of tools and methods to try and reduce the amount of spam we receive, each with different pros and cons. Also, on a more broad front, we have "solutions" like SPF (+ SRS), Microsoft's own Caller-ID, Yahoo's DomainKeys to notice. These days it is incredibly easy to implement any (or all of these), using publicly available frameworks and libraries (libspf2, milter etc). I have been using SPF for quite some time now with some measurable results, although nothing earth shattering. So the question is, which of these are you using, if any ? Why, or why not ? Do you think any of them really contribute anything to fight spam ?
