You laugh, but that might not be such a bad idea at the height of the epidemic. Some kind of garment that covers the entire head, battery powered, positive air pressure, incoming and outgoing air passes through strong UV light. You could build bluetooth headphones and microphone into it as well, for phone calling needs. With such a device there would be no need to quarantine at all, and I'm sure if Apple made it and sold it for $1000 people would buy it in droves.

That's why real scientists register their hypotheses before they conduct experiments and then report the result, irrespective of whether it is positive, negative, or inconclusive. That way it is easy to see that scientists aren't "right all the time", and nobody should trust what they say outright, unless a repeatable experiment, actually repeated by more than one unaffiliated third party confirms it.

Comment Dumb (Score 1) 42

AI gizmos should only be used where non-zero error rate is tolerable. They all make mistakes from time to time, especially if you don't want a lot of false alarms. The cost of such a mistake could be your child. This is irresponsible and dumb.
