Wow, this is insane. USA is really getting weirder and more psycho each day. 12 hrs a day?! are you fucking insane? sweet spot? sweet spot my ass, you dumbfuck. Go and work 80 hrs a week if you like. My ass will be resting in the meantime. Google is such a bullshit, along with Apple and Microsoft. I am SO FUCKING GLAD I self host everything and I don't use any of these products.

Of course the leak is in russian part, LOL. It's astonishing that russian part didn't blow up right away, knowing russian care for details, hahaha. Also, I am not surprised that roscosmos is calm about it. They are incompetent to the point that they will ignore any risk and if something happens, it just happens. Doing anything with russia is meant to fail, and this was always the case.

Such a bullshit argument that tech manufacturers like Apple fed us with as well. Soldered, or integrated in SoC RAM won't give you any dramatic improvements of performance. The claim is there to justify selling you new hardware every so often, usually the shorter time between purchases the better. And nobody even cares about e-waste, which is huge problem as well.

Comment *Sighs* (Score 1) 219

Soldered RAM is such a bullshit. I don't care about saved space. Heck! I could even cope with bigger smartphone if it provides easy way to increase RAM in form of a module, etc. Same, obviously, for a computer. But I do realize that most people are not tinkerers and care about superficial and cosmetic shit like "it's lightweight and slim". They will never understand, nor they care about the fact that this comes at a price [literal and as a side effect]. You get worse performance, frequent overheating, no upgradability, etc. I am always ready to pay more to get exactly what I need, like possibility to expand on my own hardware in the future. Maybe there's a niche for people like me, because I know I am definitely not the only one.

I've maintained something like this for years. Problem appears when you are on your phone and need to get some critical info. Using any sort of terminal to connect to your home server / VPS is a PITA. WebUI is much more preferable. I've got this now with Trilium, to which I have migrated easily, even imported all of my plain text notes to it in a matter of seconds and I have thousands - I mean literally - THOUSANDS of notes that I've created over many years ...

Comment Trilium (Score 1) 187

I use Trilium. It's perfect for my needs, has auto backups, server and desktop app, rich text editing with help of CKEditor, yet it requires some little time to get to know. It doesn't support audio notes, but well, this is a note taking app and not a recorder. It doesn't require mobile app, because it works just fine in a mobile browser. https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fzadam%2Ftrili... Not gonna say "you're gonna love it", because it depends on many factors and personal preferences. Just like you, I've checked many, many note taking solutions and Trilium is the one I like the most, fitting my flow almost perfectly. I like it so much I even donated to the project, lol. I think we should support people who create awesome things that we find attractive and useful. Hey - it helps me organize my life afterall!

Comment Ridiculous (Score 1) 122

Wow. This is so telling. People expose themselves without even knowing. Yes, obviously they do not know what to look for, even though it is their damn interest. They should be checking RESULTS of employee action, NOT HOW it was done, how many keystrokes have been made and other bullshit. More than that, it is obvious that all this is just a pretext to draw employees back into the office, because few immature bosses have problems with object permanence and when they don't SEE an employee, he - apparently - does not exist and is not working, LOL.
