What's so great about Teams again? It's improved over the years, sure, but it still isn't great. At least I can send people messages and correctly assume they actually receive them... usually. But then again I could do that with Google Talk 15 years ago. Why do we have to keep reinventing the wheel?

That's pretty nice, actually. I recently bought a Kobo Clara and don't like it too much because it doesn't have any physical buttons. Kobo does have the Kobo Remote which they released last year, which is probably why Amazon is playing catch-up here. I occasionally still use my old Kindle 3 (the one with the keyboard) because I prefer the physical buttons to turn the page. The magnetic cover is actually appealing... although I doubt I'd want to go back into the Amazon ecosystem at this point. It's far too nice to read native epub without tedious conversion software on the Kobo.

A slight exaggeration. I could only get the Windows 11 weather app to peak at 1700MB by using the embedded weather maps and aggressively zooming and panning across the globe to load data into memory. Normally it was around 500MB, but then again I'm not signed in.

Last time our UI guy started talking about the emotions of buttons with haptics, I pretty much lost all respect for the specialization.

I experienced this recently while camping on the night of a full moon. It was BRIGHT. The shadows it threw were surprisingly distinct, and it made the tents glow after it came over the trees. It never seemed that bright in the city. Yet this would have been familiar back before electrification. The things we forget about...

I'm all for this. If it costs more then it must be better quality.
