legoburner writes: "Takeo Igarashi from the University of Tokyo has a very impressive java applet/program which he describes as 'A Sketching Interface for 3D Freeform Design', and basically allows you to sketch in simple 2D and have it automatically converted to full 3D. The tool is certainly very impressive and there is a demonstration video available. The end product looks like a hand drawn object instead of the usual clinical, perfect 3D objects that are designed using standard tools."

Basically, the sugar crystals are strong enough to remove the logo (sticker), but are too soft to scratch the casing leaving it unscathed. The article has many pictures of the process as well as a thorough walkthrough. Let the rebranding of all your electronics begin!"

legoburner writes: "Tzero Technologies and Analog Devices announced that they have created a wireless HDMI interface for HDTVs, next-gen DVD players, and set-top boxes. The backbone for the technology is ultrawideband, also used as a future replacement for wired USB. The Analog Device compresses data with the [lossy] JPEG2000 video codec, which is then packetized and encrypted, and transmitted via the Tzero MAC and PHY chip."

legoburner writes: "The Enquirer is reporting that Capricorn have released a mini-itx based 1U-sized storage computer featuring 4 750GB hard drives and a 1Ghz controller system with a typical power usage of an astounding 80W per machine. A full 40U rack only uses 3.2kW which is less than 30kW for an entire Petabyte!"
