From the article: "Krawetz was also able to determine that the writing on the banner behind al-Zawahiri's head was added to the image afterward. In the second picture above showing the results of the error level analysis, the light clusters on the image indicate areas of the image that were added or changed. The subtitles and logos in the upper right and lower left corners (IntelCenter is an organization that monitors terrorist activity and As-Sahab is the video production branch of al Qaeda) were all added at the same time, while the banner writing was added at a different time, likely around the same time that al-Zawahiri was added, Krawetz says." Why would Al-Qaeda add an IntelCenter logo to their video? Why would IntelCenter add an Al-Qaeda logo? Submission + - Subversion is pointles - Linus said (blogspot.com)
An anonymous reader writes: A few weeks ago Linus Torvalds gave a speech at Google, talking about Source Code Management and GIT. Despite of the big number of Subversion developers hired by G$ (some of them were even present at the speech) Linus made really strong assertion: "Subversion has been the most pointless project ever started".
But Linus folk didn't stop there he continued with really "nice" sentences like:
- "Subversion used to say CVS done right: with that slogan there is nowhere you can go. There is no way to do cvs right"
- "If you like using cvs, you should be in some kind of mental institution or somewhere else"
- "Get rid of perforce, it is sad, but it is so, so true"
He just talked wonders about his great version control system (GIT), which he said he "wrote in a couple of weeks". Well, I believe it is true: we wrote it in two weeks, and it only took two years to make it usable for the rest of the world...
But it seems Linus was all about strong opinions that day: "not everybody can write something right the first time, just me".

jon_anderson_ca writes: Dell, through their direct2dell website, has released some details of their soon-to-be-available Linux machines. Among the highlights:
Seems reasonable, but it's too bad that Click2Run isn't in Ubuntu 7.04 for the sake of those wanting to (legally) play DVDs, use AVI files, etc.
- only hardware that works with Linux is offered
- open-source drivers used where possible
- binary drivers for Intel wireless cards, etc.
- no support for media codecs
