Comment Dead Zone. (Score 2) 42

There are enough dead zones within a major metropolitan area that this should have been done ages ago. I mean, I'm sitting on a major street next to a major freeway down the middle of the city of LA and there are spots I can walk along and not get good service. Then again, I know spots in the city where SiriusXM service is bad when there's not a building within several hundred feet and I cant imagine what's blocking the signal.

This puts a bit more light on what happened in the afternoon yesterday. Wife tried to log in to canvas to do the hours for her week of fieldwork to find a weird looking screen. she initially thought she'd got hacked or something.

Crazy it affected so many schools. I'll just say this was for Pasadena City College in Los Angeles.

omg. I just got a new 2026 VW Jetta S and I absolutely love the backup camera. I still catch myself looking backwards, but its true, when I'm pulling out of spaces where I have zero visibility to my left and right, that camera's wide angle allows me to see way more than I normally could. The super-imposted backup lines also make it MUCH easier to parallel park. My wife still doesn't use it because she doesn't trust it, but I'm sure she'll eventually come around.

Yep. I've read that generative AI doesn't say "I don't know the answer," but will just make something up instead.

I wanted to see how helpful Gen AI would be for an edge case to sort through a collection of heroes I have in a game I play. Right off the bat, I learned Gemini is the "most accurate." Anthropic was beyond worthless, OpenAI was maybe 50/50. Even so, I learned to Gemini's data before accepting its results. It definitely did not do as well as I originally thought, so I make sure it knows the stats of the players before I ask for recommendations on how to manage hero list
