A data research company did a comprehensive study of a certain type of business model to find out how the generations perceive it and how to make it more interesting and financially attractive. The company I shill for used it to update their business model, but there was a detail in it that shocked everyone. One of the questions they asked was how individuals wanted business materials disseminated. The younger generations wanted physical media. Catalogs, etc. It was the older generations, like us GenX and Boomers that wanted everything digital. I think we'll be surprised to find that maybe, just maybe, hard copies will come back around as the younger generation tires of the digital world and longs for something more real.

As someone who runs a small business and uses a credit card processing company, I can tell you that the fee structure is FAR more complicated than that. My monthly summary of charges lists 10 different versions of visa charges, five for mastercard, THREE for Discover and one for Amex. The charges range anywhere from .5% + 22 cents all the way up to 2.94 + 10 cents (which isn't Amex or Discover).

Wait what? How did I miss this news about Verizon buying Frontier?

Holy crap. So Frontier begs the govt for a huge handout with the "promise" of rolling out higher speeds, only to turn around and wave the white flag?

Frontier wanders through our neighborhood once every few months trying to get us to switch (I'm sticking with my local, because small business and they've never given me problems). My wife *hates* Frontier because of the crap service and run-around they gave her parents, plus the rep tried to lie to me (the one time I did talk to them) about compared services, saying I was in a worse position with the local. It was easy to pull out my phone and run a speed test to prove them wrong.
