Consumer Reports fails to comprehend the importance of keeping up with the times. Windows 10 pc's that are unable to run Windows 11 are subject to attack from malware that isn't defended against by TPM 2.0, which was approved in 2014 (a year before Windows 10 was released). It is unreasonable to ask Microsoft to support a 10-year old operating system forever. There have been plenty of PC innovations over the past 10 years that people should want a new computer -- although without the bullshit focus on advertising that Microsoft incorporated into Windows 11, ensuring an enshittified experience. More and more I'm wondering if the solution is to leave Microsoft and use Linux if you want to run an old piece of shit computer forever.
