I actually saw an old rerun of SNL from the late 70's/early 80's that made fun of this same thing. it was one of their "fake" commercials. It was a razor that had two blades. apparently, 30 years ago, no one could conceive of a razor that had more than one blade on it. here we are years later saying how a razor could never fit 6 blades on the head!
