Journal johndiii's Journal: [Beloved] Lament (Rilke) 2

All things in their time, beloved...

Whom will you cry to, heart? More and more lonely,
your path struggles on through incomprehensible
mankind. All the more futile perhaps
        for keeping to its direction,
        keeping on toward the future,
        toward what has been lost.

Once. You lamented? What was it? A fallen berry
        of jubilation, unripe.
But now the whole tree of my jubilation
is breaking, in the storm it is breaking, my slow
        tree of joy.
        Loveliest in my invisible
landscape, you that made me more known
        to the invisible angels.

                                        (Translated by Stephen Mitchell)

For thee, Koria.

Where are we going from here...

Some things don't go as they're planned...

    • I understand. Not all days can be joyous, nor should they be. Sadness and pain are part of the human condition, and they teach us. Without them, joy would be robbed of its meaning. Feel that sorrow, but know that it is not fundamentally who you are. It is to be lived, and learned from, and then - at the right time - set aside. Not banished, because she will never have not been a part of your life. But this sorrow is less than the good that she brought to your life, and the way to remember her is to c
