Journal johndiii's Journal: For queenofthe1ring 8

On the eve of your wedding...

May your wedding tomorrow be better than you dared hope, and may your marriage be everything that it possibly can be. In token of that...

To My Dear and Loving Husband

If ever two were one, then surely we.
        If ever man were loved by wife, then thee;
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee, give recompense.
Thy love is such I can no way repay,
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persevere
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

                                        -- Ann Bradstreet

My very best wishes for your future.

  • If so, the weather is shaping up to be pretty dismal, too, although I love the ocean on days like that. On the plus side, the cold water means the guests won't be edging out the door to grab their fishing rods.

Anyway, mazal tov to her! Marriage isn't about weddings, anyway, it's about marriage.

    • Thanks!

It wasn't P-town, MA, fortunately. The weather was quite beautiful, and we were able to get some pictures outside at a nearby historical area.

All in all, a pretty good day!

  • Hope everything goes the best for you Qot1R! :D
  • getting married has definately made my life much better in ways that i couldn't have thought to have asked for it to be.

may the joys and challenges of your marriage enrich your lives as you grow together.

sorry it's cheesy, but i really do wish you the best.
  • Thank you for thinking of me and posting this beautiful poem! I appreciate you taking the time to do so. The wedding was much better than I had ever dared to hope, and once everything got rolling I was surprised at how well things went.

So far so good on the marriage thing too! ;-)
