Apparently the overlord vacuum left by Ethelred's departure to Multiply has been filled. I just noticed this at the top of the front page:

Slashdot stories can be listened to in audio form via an RSS feed, as read by our own robotic overlord.

Can't get there from work, unfortunately. Has anyone listened?

Oh, and a poll (if anyone is still reading here). Which is a better overlord:

A. A shiny steel robot.

B. Some wanker living over in Germany.

C. An invasion of France.

The feed is pretty much what you'd expect: a decent (but obviously computer-generated) voice reading the posts and completely mispronouncing words and missing emphasis on others. I'll stick with the human-read Slashdot Review podcast [slashdotreview.com].
