Journal johndiii's Journal: [Original Poetry] Wait for Dawn 3

        Long, my journey, seeking day
I have no way to know
How long a road I have to walk,
Or whence my steps should go.
In dark, I wait for dawn
No choice I have not made,
Not to commence my life from now
        I wait, in 'compassed shade.
The dawn is far from certain,
        The light may never come
I know not but that onward
        My path will wind alone.
So still I wait in darkness
        No solace, comfort spare
        Bleak-smothered expectations,
        I live on hope alone.

  • Johndiii, I have to tell you that your poems are very powerful and very moving. Thank you for sharing them with all of us.
  • Sad. I think that's what you were going for, so that's a good thing.

  • Many of us are in this space with someone or a notion of someone. In some cases we know the person, some cases we think we know them, and in somecases we are waiting for them to enter our lives. John, I am in this space too. Sigh...
