Not necessarily. Those numbers do not check to see if they are employed in their field. I know a handful of recent grads. All of them are employed. But not in the field they spent time and money studying.

Hmm, maybe this is true in some fields, but my wife (who is a PhD researcher) certainly has to submit a full set of goals, criteria and methods in her grant proposals. That isn't the part of the system that is broken, in my experience.

A 120v wall plug is Level 1 and because it is not a special plug, literally every house in America can do level 1 and it isn't counted as having a "home charger".

And the VAST majority of EV cars aren't using ANY of those public chargers because most people charge at home. Yes, my car is often plugged in and charging for 4-5 hours at a time ... because it is in my driveway, plugged into my own Level 2 charger.

Your google search skills are weak.

Studies of battery loss in EVs show between 1.8% and 2% per year loss. So for 5 years, you are looking at 9-10% range loss.

But an ICE car? In that same time span will typically lose around 5-6% in range. So it's not like the EV world is all that different from the ICE world in this regard.

Luckily, it isn't a secret. It's wrong.

Battery warming isn't necessary, though when going to a FAST DC charger, it can be used to help the battery accept a much faster charge rate.

For example, my car on level 2 in the garage will sometimes turn on the COOLING system because the battery is getting hot due to 10kW pouring into it for a few hours at a time.

Car batteries are a LOT cheaper than that.

Not only do most of those places not use chains much if at all, in MANY of those locations chains are illegal on your car! Chains will chew up roads like a pot smoker with a box of pop tarts!

But what about an AI editor/proofer? We already have tools that can analyze for spelling and grammar and not only are they widely used, it is considered silly NOT to use the spellcheck in your editor of choice.

How about an AI based editor that can give advice on a more meta level? Something like, the story bogs down in description on page 3 when it really needs to be action, action, action at that point. You seem to hint at a mystery with this character but they it never gets resolved. Did you mean to do that?

While I don't think current AI is up to that task, I would also be ok with an AI editor giving that type of advice.

Level 2 chargers, while an order of magnitude faster than a 120v/15 amp trickle charger, do NOT appreciably shorten battery life. Superchargers are another COUPLE orders of magnitude faster and DO (over time) affect the battery life.

In other words, there is no reason to trickle charge if you have a level 2 charger available.

Cosmologically, it is a lot harder to have massive objects, moving at different speeds and directions, actually hit. Even when they get close, the speeds involved often just mean they careen off in different vectors. But if they do manage to come together just right, they are just as likely to form an orbit around it other. It would be easier for you to hit an arrow, with ANOTHER arrow, while both are in flight than for a random object to slam into another random object on such a scale.

But since the universe is HUGE and IMPOSSIBLY OLD, yes, it has probably happened a lot and will happen a lot more. You just have to be lucky enough to be looking in the exact right direction at the exact right time to SEE it. :)
