That is the difference, the regulatory agencies.

US used to have the best one, but has since capitulated to corporate greed through government defunding and increased concern for the dollar over lives.

EU could also enforce these things on Boeing, but they relied on the US to do the right thing I think. That has likely shifted.
If you watch Airplane disasters on... yeah I know, Paramount+, you can see a broad history of air related disasters that lead to change, then to suggestions which got more people killed until it was a change.
Oversight is required in capitalism. We know this from the 1900s and large factories that had open machines that would often sever an armor or worse...body to safety measures we have today. Dummies want to make fun of OSHA, they are likely alive because of OSHA.

"same side of the coin" is a weird way to normalize it.

We all know thats a fallacious point. So, you excusing it tells everyone you are for the thing you are claiming to not like.

This is literally a "if they jump off a bridge..." school mentality, and you have yet to figure out why following a lemming off the bridge is not conducive to healthy living.

Fix was simple, go into safe mode, run some dos commands to remove the update, boot up.

The problem was related to having to touch each server.
Running VMs, or servers with IPMI you could handle them remotely and quickly. if you have monitoring you know which servers got affected pretty quickly.
Took me an hour from recognizing the problem to fixing the few servers affected.
Luck and proper systems in place can reduce many outages.
I have to question those that took a long time, unless there are blockers in place like no remote hands, no IPMI, bad P&Ps, and/or software issues that arise from environments half going down.
Feels like a lot of problems should have been realized with this outage.

We went from services provided by bank tellers and ATMs to "oh, you want access to your money? You gotta pay!" to "Oh, this extra money we get from selling customers info to other companies! YAY!"

At the end, the only thing left will be for them to charge us money to keep our money, which will FINALLY give people pause.

Kind of, what they want is unfettered access to more of your data and information. "AI" is a ruse to get you to capitulate since its clear that they are siphoning your data in order to add to its collective.
Only thing that concerns me is the end goal here. They have clearly stolen data, and used it for their own profit, but I dont think that is the end game.
