China is eating their lunch. A lot of the newer robots have lidar, and iRobot is still doing bump and run with some type of inferior visual mapping. I see complaints about it on reddit a good bit. I gave up on Roomba a while back. Roborock is the first robot vacuum I've had that last more than 3 months.

I think there are two concepts at play. GOF so that the virus can be modeled and GOF to be harmful to humans. My Biology is a little sketchy here, but IIRC, GOF is done initially so that the virus can be studied in our surrogates. You can continue GOF to another level that makes it more potent and dangerous to humans. The first stop of GOF is SOP for a lab. They can't work with it otherwise. The later is not SOP unless your are developing a bioweapon. The subtlety between them is referenced, but not fully explained the reference article. I don't know what Fauci's testimony is, but I can definitely see that this wouldn't be well understood by the average idiot politician no matter how well it was explained. Or they understand that crap like this will be the death of their platform. Usage appears to have peaked in the US and is likely declining. The kids have already left Facebook splitting between multiple platforms. The next group will get sick of the misinformation that leaks through and leave to be away from the idiots. Remember that MySpace died from basically the same phenomenon. The short game for FB is strong. The long game is always uncertain.

Landlord here. Not a 1%er by any stretch. I have two rental houses because I know that social security will be robbed by the time I retire. Basically, you would have to freeze the economy. Because even tho I'm not getting rents, I still have to fix the HVAC and the of course it leaked so the drywall is fucked, etc. The contractors need to get paid. There is no good solution. You plays the game, you takes the chances. I know what I was getting into.

Google just screwed up on Google Home. Amazon echo had SDK access from the get go, not months after launch. Here are some more items: 1) Walled garden approach, no one except a few companies had ability to integrate before launch. 2)Stupid Android/iOS App only for configuration and setup. Echo has both App and web interface. 3) Me too , late to the game, the Echo was release in Nov 2014. 4)No bluetooth or stereo jack. 5) Home automation support is current limited to 3 official products, good thing there is Hue Bridge, otherwise my 60 or so smart home devices wouldn't work. 5) Google Home sucks for name, a few weeks ago searching for anything Google Home brought you articles about the Google Homepage.

The only good thing it has going for it is the speech is better than Amazon by slight margin and it is bit quicker than the Echo. Hoping Google turns it around a bit.

1) Android is same way. A few companies get early access to code.
2) If you have 6 Homes, do you want to go through 6 websites or a single server app?
3) So was android.
4) Stereo jacks and Toslink are provided by chromecast audio. Not sure what you are using a bluetooth mic for.
5) And most of the others suck. It will take products like Echo and Home to get rid of the dead weight.
5+) Agreed on name. Google has a lot more going on in the AI front. I don't remember Amazon participating in any of the Grand Challenges....

As a result of the weight issues discovered, the FAA planned to investigate and potentially revise estimated weight values, something that had not been done since 1936. Air Midwest used an average weight of 200 pounds (90.7 kg) per passenger after the accident, but the NTSB suggests that airlines use actual weights instead of average. 70% of small air carriers still use average.

Weight issues affect control surface authority. In this case, it was a contributing factor and relevant enough for the FAA to change it's guidance.

FYI, Private Pilot, ASEL. And in the aircraft I am certificated for, weight is quite relevant. Ditto for the small carriers.
