Let's see what CSB were asked to do:

" The email includes a photo of Tunick, and asks the officials to direct him to secondary inspection, retain all of his electronics, and collect their passcodes."

I don't see anything about voluntarily entering obtained passcodes to further search any electronic devices, do you? Perhaps searching the phone was meant to be done after cloning it, to ensure data could not be destroyed and the chain of evidence was retained?

CSB stuffed up the investigation completely and is trying to dig themselves out of the hole they threw themselves into.

In the US with a more dispersed population and complex road network, public charging infrastructure is more complicated. We still have too many gaps. Unless you have a charger at home EVs are a bit of an inconvenience. Which is why Hybrids are so popular in the USA.

Australia is worse than the US in every way for public charging infrastructure, yet the new car market is now at quarters - 1/4 EV, 1/4 hybrid, 1/4 gas, 1/4 diesel. Expect the EV and hybrid portions to continue to grow, especially with cheap Chinese EVs pushing prices down across the board.

Quite possible. I'd expect my current employer to add more responsibilities to my role first, there's so many 'somewhat important' activities floating around that are simply not done right now due to lack of resources to do them. I would expect natural attrition to perform most downsizing, and the top of the list of people leaving would be those that can boast they automated their (and others) role and can perform similar work at their next organisation.

The problem is the old code that isn't getting updated - operating systems no longer receiving updates, obsolete firmware on hardware still in use, perpetually licensed software no longer maintained but nursed along for as long as possible, and of course organisations lacking resources to update as new versions become available.

My problem here is personified in Facebook itself - there are so many sponsored posts and suggested Follows that it's a struggle to see what my friends have posted. You can be sure that an AI agent that created your own feed based purely on what you want to see would be instantly blocked by Facebook as well, even though that's precisely how Facebook picked up so many users in the first place.

Imagine going somewhere to catchup with some friends, only to find out that you have to watch a 5 sec ad for every step you take in a premise.

If the glasses just stuck a name tag over people I had been introduced to at least once, that would be damn useful.

I think the issues are bigger than a concern about Donald Trump.

I think them learning to be more self-reliant, send less money to foreign companies for vital infrastructure is a good idea, for everybody, Switzerland, EU, America, everybody... I seriously doubt the only reason is Trump, it's just non-sensical, because it is temporary.

Trump might be temporary, but a nation willing to vote in a person like Trump twice means long term that country is no longer trustworthy to deal with.
