Submission + - Firefox introduces Kit, a new mascot with a friendlier tone (nerds.xyz)

BrianFagioli writes: Firefox has introduced Kit, a new mascot meant to give the browser a friendlier, more personal identity. Mozilla is framing Kit as a companion for a web thatâ(TM)s âoeprivate, open and actually yours.â Itâ(TM)s a branding refresh rather than a technical change, and it leans into warmth and approachability at a time when browsers are starting to feel interchangeable.

The move also quietly pushes aside the old âoeFirefox is a red pandaâ trivia angle, sticking with a fox-like character thatâ(TM)s easier to recognize. Whether this helps Firefox regain relevance in a Chrome-dominated world is unclear, but it does signal that Mozilla still wants Firefox to feel like a browser with a personality and values, not just another commodity UI.

As a researcher in sustainability, ESG in a poor way to assess corporate sustainability or corporate social responsibility. Organizations pick and choose their ESG reporting firm. It's super easy to manipulate results. The scores of the different ESG firms rarely converge. All in all, it's currently just a way for organizations to mask unsustainability while being compliant.

Comment fake reviews - necessary in fashion (Score 2) 79

I was the operating manager for a small fashion company in Los Angeles for 2 years.Roughly 95% of our sales were on amazon. We primarily sold leggings, but did well in other basics too. At some point, fake negative reviews started flooding our store, but we didn't receive an increase in contact from customers complaining about the product. It was clear that a massive competitor was buying our product, leaving a bad review, and then reselling our products on their store. I confirmed this when I found another amazon store using our photos and descriptions. Amazon didn't do shit about it. Our complaint was ignored. Our ratings tanked, and business slowed. We countered by buying fake reviews from a Chinese firm, and that helped us get back up to the coveted 4 star rating. Amazon is a race to the bottom. I've left that company, which I liked, and I'll never use Amazon again. It kills businesses.
