Comment mail from OnStar (Score 1) 162

I have been getting mail to my gmail account from onstar.com about someone's 2018 Chevrolet Equonox AWD.
The mails thell that the vehicle has a low tyre pressure, it needs an oil change or something. I also get a monthly report where I can see the mileage among other things.
I've been trying to send mail back that they've got the wrong email address and that they don't even sell Chevrolet Equinoxes in Finland, but no-one seems to read those.

We decided to give Signal a break. It's cross device sync didn't work very well. I don't know why the download size of the package is over 90M considering it's quite limited feature set (Telegram is 1/3 of that), and it updates quite often. It still isn't available for .rpm-based distros. The final straw was when Signal app relentlessly changed the default app for .html files to itself, what kind of app does that? I know Telegram doesn't use end-to-end encryption by default, for that you have to start a 'secret chat'. But I's usability is great, both on mobile and desktop.

I've been playing Steam games quite happily withith an nVidia card, using the proprietary driver. I haven't experienced this bug. It's definitely accelerated. (GF GT 430, Linux Mint).

I even recently ordered me a GTS 750 card - expecting to get rid of occasional slowdowns (eg. when a huge horde of zombies attack) and allowing me to play any linux game on the market.

The number of commercial games that run natively on linux may still suck, but generally Linux is an OK gaming OS, if you have good driver for your graphics. Proprietary nVidia drivers are quite good, and I'm glad if AMD drivers will be good too. In last few years Radeon proprietary radeon drivers have had trouble installing, and had some problems even if you do. So my advice has been buy nVidia if you want to game on Linux and install the proprietary drivers. If you want all open source, get a radeon but don't expect it to run games smoothly. Let's see what I have for Linux on steam: Half Life 2, Portal, Star Conflict, Dead- Island. They all run well on my machine AMD FX.6300, nVidia GT 430. See if I must upgrade my graphics card for Bioshock Infinite, that should get Linux binaries soon (which I already bought on christmast sale for 7€).

Why shouldn't ISP's appeal to EU Court of Justice or European Court of Human Rights?
CJEU stated that the directive "interferes in a particularly serious manner with the fundamental rights to respect for private life and to the protection of personal data".
One could understand that any similar local laws or practices should be void/illegal in the EU, and in violation of European Convention on Human Rights.
