Anyone out there live near Beckley, WV? I'm trying to stalk someone and with it being a 6 hour or so drive (according to mapquest) the idea of stalking by proxy, or some other recon is most helpful.

Oh, and it looks like icons are back for JEs... at least via my view of the /. world. However they are not back on the main page, but then I'm not running a Mac with safari.

  • Stalk? That sounds a little spooky.

    • Stalk... track... want to take a few pix of... hide in the bushes... just want some info, it's kinda hard to draw the line sometimes as to what laws one is violating (if any).
      • To my knowledge, as long as your subject is in public places, and you are not looking in windows and such, it is perfectly legal. Of course if there are restraining orders and such, distance is defined by legal court order, but I trust that is not at issue here. On the other hand, one of the businesses I work with had an issue where we had to hire a private investigator to watch an employee who was attempting to extort money. Surveillance really paid off there. Big time. His advice to me was rent a whi
        • Hiring someone would be much cheaper if I happen to have someone who reads slashdot and can get me the same info I desire. It's one of those things that would be either an afternoon thing or a ton of research thing. I wouldn't ask anyone to do more than the afternoon thing and thus I offer a case of beer. I can send you $$ and you get your beer yourself, if you're really cool I may come to you, or if you get in my neck of the woods great quantities of alcohol can be provided.
