gregg writes: Developed by the Information Technology Office at NASA's Ames Research Center NetworKing lets players build fast and efficient communication networks by first setting up command stations around the world and then linking them to orbiting satellites and space telescopes. Resources are earned throughout the game as players continue to acquire more clients.

NetworKing is available to the public for play on the NASA 3D Resources website. Players can access the game using an Internet browser. It can be downloaded and run on both a PC and Macintosh operating system.

The contestants are expected to take four days to complete the course, which involves 423 laps of an indoor track.

Submission + - Obama Recommends Delay in Digital TV Switch 1

gregg writes: Six weeks before the nation's television stations are scheduled to convert to digital transmission, the Obama administration is asking Congress to consider a delay.
In the most significant sign to date of concern about the impending digital TV transition, the Obama transition team co-chair John Podesta said the government funds to support the change are "woefully inadequate" and said that the digital switch date, Feb. 17, should be "reconsidered and extended."
