The Indian AI call centers didn't last, people didn't like them. The Artificial ones won't last either, for the same reason. Everything old is new again.
Maybe. At least the American AIs will speak better English (mostly). But more likely the companies will ignore the dissatisfaction of their customers if they can save some money, and all their competitors are doing the same thing.
The surprising part is that any of the engineers went back after the company had treated them like that. I guess they'll just be saving money until they get sacked again.
What alternative do you think these guys had? They've got bills to pay and families to feed, and all of these companies have been dumping skilled employees like crazy due to leadership's sophomoric belief that AI can do everything.
The article didn't say whether they were offered a substantial sign-up bonus to persuade them to rejoin, and are they still on the old money?
Jokes aside, I think the point is this isn't really a doxxing. Doxxing is an unauthorised release of personal information (usually with the intent to cause harm), this is really the opposite as it's a state releasing the name of a wanted criminal.
No, I think it's a real doxxing. The German authorities know they have little chance of getting their hands on the crims themselves because Russia, but instead they release their identity (complete with photos) and expose them to the attention of interested parties in their own country. These may include other criminals looking to persuade them to share some of their several million Euros/Dollars in accumulated funds, possibly assisted by bolt cutters and a blow torch, and maybe the Russian government themselves.
The Russians may not care about the criminality involved, but seeing a chance to get a couple of extra million to boost their failing economy in the wake of the war with Ukraine, the opportunity may be hard to pass up.
My early Roomba would trap itself fairly regularly.
Don't worry, in future all robot vacuum cleaners will connect to real humans in Pakistan to get them out of trouble, just like the self driving taxis.
Going through difficulties makes you appreciate everything more once you come out the other side.
That's assuming that you do come out the other side.
I'd never heard of Kiwi Farms, but it appears as if Cloudflare have.

I would expect that the oldest and best paid are also the most experienced, and presumably the hardest to replace with AI.
Enshittification: They don't care if the AI's work is inferior to a human's, up to a point. As long as the AI is cheaper and the loss of customers, viewers, listeners etc. is less than the money saved in wages.
